What can you use Acrylic for/typical applications

Acrylic is a sheet material that can be used to build a huge variety of objects. It is the most common material used in the 3D workshop and students have built boxes, architectural models, jewellery and display cases with it. Projects are often a mixture of acrylic and other materials such as plywood or other plastics.

Acrylic can be used on a wide variety of machines in the 3D workshop such as the Laser Cutter, CNC router, Plastics Oven, Dome Blower, and Strip Heater.

Acrylic can be glued together is the 3D workshop using super glue. There is a special particularly liquid super glue specifically for this purpose - ask a technician to get it out for you and show you optimal gluing technique. It should ideally be done inside the fume cabinet.
